The Shipyards Medical Arts Centre is an 8,000 SF facility located within a heritage building that once served as a shipyard. Working closely with the owner and municipal representatives, the design preserves and highlights the building’s historic character while adapting it for contemporary medical use.

  • Modern interventions are carefully integrated throughout the space, introducing updated functionality and ensuring compliance with current healthcare design standards while maintaining a clear dialogue between old and new.

    The café located within the lobby serves as a key link between patients, pharmacists, and physicians. Rather than separating functions, an open-plan concept brings them together to improve efficiency and enhance the visitor experience. Patients are welcomed into a calm, engaging environment where they can enjoy refreshments while waiting for appointments or prescriptions, surrounded by the layered experience of historic and contemporary design.
